Adventures in the San Juan Islands area of Wa.

The San Juan Islands are an archipelago in the U.S. state of Washington known for rural Pacific Northwest landscapes and wildlife. Horseshoe-shaped Orcas Island, one of the main isles, is home to Moran State Park's old-growth forest and Mt. Constitution. San Juan Island is distinguished by the lively seaside town of Friday Harbor and Lime Kiln Point State Park, an orca-whale lookout.

The brief description above is from the top of the wikipedia page - whose link is provided above. The webpage contains a lot more information.

To fully enjoy the Islands, one should have or rent a car and use a ferry to go to various islands.

Washington State Ferries serves Lopez Island, Shaw Island, Orcas Island, and San Juan Island from terminals in Anacortes, Washington and Sidney, British Columbia. The link above helps to learn more.

We went from Anacortes to San Juan Island, Friday Harbor. We drove around much of San Juan Island.

We took a ferry on a 1 day round trip from San Juan to Orcas Island. Drove around Orcas Island and stopped at various destinations - including Moran State Park and to the top of Mt. Constitution.
